Searching Genus for Geranium

Not to be confused with the annual geraniums (Pelargoniums.) Hardy geraniums comprise a large genus of over 400 species widely distributed over the temperate regions of the world. They are valuable as groundcovers, in the border or as accent plants. Many are long-flowering and will rebloom. Derive their common name from the Greek geranos, "crane" in reference to their beak-like seed heads. Very easy plants: satisfied with ordinary soil, sun or part shade and are essentially free of pests and diseases.
