Searching Genus for Capsicum

A small genus of shrubby plants native to the tropical Americas that includes all peppers.

CAPSICUM annum (Black Pearl)737
Ornamental or Christmas Pepper45cm
Not the sort of seed we usually carry- but my interest in ornamental edibles got the better of me. This is a small upright and bushy plant with semi-glossy, deep purple-black leaves (starting out green when young and maturing to black with sun and warmth). The peppers are round, looking like shiny marbles, starting out black and maturing to dark red. They are edible--and FIERY hot. Plants grow well in heat, humidity and drought, and are virtually carefree. Nice in containers too.
Germination Instructions: Easy, warm germinator.
