A genus of two species, related to Iris and native to the far east, growing in scrub, open woods and grassy places.

A dramatic perennial valued for its Iris-like sword-shaped leaves, and dramatic flowers with orange-peach blooms, spotted red or purple-brown. Beautiful seed pods resembling blackberries are valued for dried arrangements. Shallow, fibrous-rooted plant that requires good drainage and thrives in light or sandy soils in full sun.
Germination Instructions: An initial 4 weeks at cold is beneficial and will produce a higher percentage of germination. Or, seeds may be sprouted at warm for lower rates.
