A genus of 30 species native to North America and Mexico; one to Japan. Wonderfully aromatic flowers are arranged in dense spikes. Most species flower the first year from seed.

Native to northern North America. Erect branches of mint-and-licorice-scented, foliage ending in fuzzy spikes of lavender flowers. The flowers are edible and are charming crumbled into salads. The flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Seed collected in Alberta.

Beautiful light lime-green-yellow foliage on the familiar and very hardy Blue Hyssop. Dense spikes of lavender contrasts wonderfully with the foliage colour. Entire plant is anise-scented. Blooms first year from seed. The yellow foliage is most pronounced in spring.
